A Chain authorization allows an organization to authorize another organization (for example, an intermediary), to log in on their behalf to service providers that can be accessed using eHerkenning . The director or authorization manager of the organization then does not necessarily need an eHerkenning himself and can outsource certain work to a third party. The advantage for the intermediary is that he can use one eHerkenning to log into services for which he is authorized on behalf of several companies. He then does not have to apply for another separate eHerkenning for each company he represents.
