eHerkenning for EU Trader Portal

To login to the EU Trader Portal of Customs, you need a eHerkenning from assurance level 3. To do so, follow the step-by-step plan below.

1. Open the registration form to apply for eHerkenning level 3

2. Complete the registration form

Due to our link with the Chamber of Commerce register, after entering the Chamber of Commerce number, the registration form is automatically partly filled in. The second step asks for the details of the authorized representative. Then, in the third step, you can enter the details of the user. At the authorizations tab, you can specify the validity period of the eHerkenning . In addition, at assurance level 3 you need to select at least the following authorization for logging into the EU Trader Portal:

  • Service provider: Customs 
  • Service: EU Trader Portal Customs

3. Print out the registration form and get it signed
After the application is completed, the PDF version of the registration form can be downloaded immediately. A copy of the registration form is also emailed to the authorized representative and the user. The registration form should be printed out and signed by the authorized representative. 

4. Collect the required attachments and send them by post
The original signed registration form, together with a copy of a valid identification document of the authorized representative and an extract from the Chamber of Commerce, which is not older than 14 days, must be sent by post to Reconi. For the CoC extract, a printout of the "View Extract" option on the CoC website is sufficient. 

5. Processing of eRecognition application by Reconi
Received mail items are validated for accuracy and completeness by Reconi on the day of receipt. In certain cases, physical identification (at a location determined by you) may be required. After we receive your request, we will assess whether identification is necessary in your case. 

6. Delivery of eRecognition tools by Reconi
Upon delivery, the user receives an e-mail with the confirmation of the user name and an SMS with the initial password that the user, if desired, can change himself. No physical delivery takes place. The delivery is completely digital.  

Note: Customs has announced that in March 2018 they will make available an additional service where you can then also start logging in to access certain services. Please take this into account when purchasing your eHerkenning. You can choose to purchase an authorization for access to "Alle diensten at EH3 and below" right away. This will ensure that you always have the correct authorization in the future.
